Pyrite Gravel

This Pyrite Gravel can be used with many home decor projects and it is highly reflective and shines in the light!

Pyrite Gravel can be used in many ways - vase filler, decorations, ground cover, accents in potted plants, making jewelry and much more..

Pyrite is commonly found around the world in a variety of geological formations. But what’s fascinating about this stone is how it evolves. It starts as iron-rich sedimentary deposits in hydrothermal veins. As it evolves, it forms in masses, stalactites, grains, globes, cubes, and even twelve-sided crystals! Pyrite is a very fluid stone and, like our own lives, can evolve in any number of directions.

Iron pyrite, or fool's gold, is an iron sulfide. It represents the prototype comound of a crystallographic pyrite structure, and it was among the first crystal strutures to be solved by X-ray diffraction. The crystal typically forms cuboid crystals, and also form framboids, which resemble raspberries.

This pyrite gravel makes for a fun "gold-panning" experience when mixed with sand, and is sure to be a fun activity for kids!
