Amethyst Crystal Point with Natural Sides
RAW + COLORFUL + UNIQUE
Amethyst is a variation of quartz. Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals at the Earth's surface. Its chemical composition consists of one part silicone and two parts oxygen. Quartz belongs to the trigonal crystal system when at room temperature. This mineral is defined as a value of 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness.
Price is corresponding to size. Small is 2.5 inches tall $15.00, Medium is 3.5 inches tall $34.00, Large is 4 inches tall $50.00.
Amethyst, the birthstone for February, is one of our most popular gemstone materials. Amethyst forms in long, prismatic crystals in geodes or hallow rocks. These geodes form when there are cavities in volcanic rock. As the rock cools, the mineral-saturated water, gases and volcanic material distill and crystallize. When these crystals harden, they form amethyst. Although generally more of a deeper purple, the stone can also have a reddish-purple tinge, or a very pale purple tinge that fades into a lilac.
