3 Flavored Ice Cubes That Will Change Your Life Forever
Flavored ice cubes are like jewelry for your drink — eye-catching and loaded with personality... They’re also functional: As the cubes melt, they add hints of flavor, turning even a plain glass of water into an aromatic sip. The best part is that these cubes are a cinch to make, often requiring nothing more than “chop, add water, freeze.”
1. LAVENDER FLOWER ICE CUBES
A Lavender Flower Ice Cube not only makes a colorful addition to water or iced tea, but also brings out the flavor of gin and bourbon. We used our True Culinary Lavender for this recipe and turned it into these lovely cubes. Bonus: Add some chopped basil before freezing for an even bolder taste as the cubes melt.
Ingredients
- Ice-cube tray
- Distilled water
- True Culinary Lavender sold in our online Shop
- Assorted Edible Flowers & Herbs (Optional)
Instructions
- In an ice-cube tray, pour water to a depth of 1⁄8 inch, and freeze for 1 hour. Add lavender flowers to each well. Pour ¼ inch water into wells, and freeze for 1 hour. Pour water into each well to fill completely. Freeze for 2 hours, or overnight.
2. LAVENDER LEMON ICE CUBES
When life gives you lemons...make lemon ice cubes. This lemon ice cube recipe is so easy to prepare you could turn it into a fun activity for kids.
Simply follow a basic lemonade recipe that we provide with our True Lavender Lemonade Mix. Our organic mix contains lavender flowers and lemonade concentrate and so all you need to do is add water and mix. But, instead of pouring the liquid into a pitcher, pour it into ice cube trays. When you add a few of these boldly flavored cubes to water or a Tom Collins, it’s like capturing summertime in a glass!
3. LAVENDER VANILLA ICE CUBES
Think iced coffee is so great it can’t be improved on? Try throwing a few lavender vanilla ice cubes in the cup — mind blown. (Same goes for iced chai.)
In soda, in coffee or even tea...we love that extra touch of something special in our drinks! These lavender vanilla ice cubes are the perfect things to keep your sweet weekend beverages cold without getting watered down.
The sweet, creamy cubes are made with almond milk, True Culinary Lavender, sugar, vanilla extract and vanilla bean and the are the perfect iced coffee mix-in or even something for a nice cold chai tea when you’re on the go in the morning.
